The Santino Ferioli refuge is owned by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) of Olgiate Olona since 1983. It is located at 2264 m above sea level on the GTA path that connects Alagna Valsesia to Rima San Giuseppe and is entirely managed by the Section Members who take turns as volunteers during the summer season.
This refuge is a fundamental stop for those who want to try their hand at the ascent of the NNW ridge of Monte Tagliaferro; from here you can also reach the top of Corno Mud, 2802 m or the "belvedere", a natural terrace located on the ridge of Corno Mud from which  you can admire the SE side of Monte Rosa.
It can be reached from:
- Alagna Valsesia (1190 m), following paths 8 and 8a in approximately 2.30 hours
- Rima S. Giuseppe (mt. 1411) following path 296 (old numeration 96) to Colle Mud then path 8, in approximately 2.30 h.
